The New Orleans Saints defense was AWFUL! Not just bad at one thing….bad at EVERYTHING! Don’t believe me then here are the numbers: They were 31st in the league in points allowed with 28 points per game, 32nd in the league in yards allowed with 440 per game, 32nd in league against the run and 25th in the league in sacks with 3o. The Kansas City Chiefs 1 of 2 wins were against the Saints and the Chiefs had the #1 pick in the 2013 draft.

Born in Brownville, Texas and then attended University of Texas from 2009 til 2012. He played safety, nickleback and special teams. He gained honors such as First-team All-Big 12 (2011, 2012) and First-team All-American (2012). But his biggest accomplishment was sacking Sam Bradford in the Red River Rivalry.

Strength:

+ His play recognition is the best part of his game.

+ Does a good job in zone coverage and reading the receiver.

+ Takes out the lead blocker so the defense behind him can make a play.

+ High motor. All over the field. Is one of those players who is making a play all the time.

+ Does a great job at covering the slot receiver.

Needs Improvement:

– Will leave his feet to make a tackle and will whiff on it.

– Will miss time his jump so he is ineffective against the jump ball.

– Is too high to make a tackle.

– Needs to work on his press coverage against the receiver.

Summary:

He will not fix the Saints defense but he can’t make it worse. When i see Vaccaro, i see someone who could be like Polamalu without the hair. He just seems too erratic sometimes and will try too hard to make a big play instead of just making a tackle for a few yard gain. If anyone can get the most out of him and use him with creativity is Rob Ryan.

Landry Jones

Landry Jones

Position: Quarterback

Height: 6’4 Weight: 229 Arms: 33 Hands: 9 40 time: 4.95

“After this season if everything goes to plan, I expect Landry Jones to be the better pro prospect coming out of college than Sam Bradford was,” “

I also say it one more time, if Bradford played out his three full seasons, I would have fully expected him to be ahead of Landry Jones. Jones will have three years under his belt when the season ends, which is great for any pro prospect.

Jones will contend with Andrew Luck for the top pick in the 2012 draft if he can stay healthy. Look for big things out of Jones and the Sooners in 2011.”  By Jeffery Schmidt at Bleacher report. Now you look at this and you go ” this man is crazy!” but he is really not. People actually thought this a couple of years ago. Now did Jones really get worse or do we see him for what he really is?

Landry Jones came into Oklahoma with high expectations. Following Heisman trophy winners Jason White and Sam Bradford. He had led Oklahoma to 3 bowls game in his career and was always a threat for the Big 12 title

Strength:

+ Anticipates well. Throws where his receivers will be and gives them a chance to run after the catch.

Needs Improvement:

– When he has to move in the pocket, his is very inaccurate.

– He needs his first read open or a quick pass to get the ball out of his hands.

– He is a statue in the pocket.

– Goes to the check down too quickly

– Can not handle blitzes or pressure in the pocket. Needs a clean pocket

– He is a catch and throw quarterback. Gets the snaps and throws the ball.

Summary:

I tried to give Landry Jones a fair chance in this scouting report. If you can tell from this….you see more Improvements then Strength. I can’t see anything from him then a career back up. He is a good option if you already have a franchise quarterback.
