OH NO HE DI’INT! Week 7 edition

OH NO HE DI’INT! Week 7 edition:

Good:

1) At Hard Count, we make fun of kickers all the time. They aren’t “real” football players but we have to give Pat Mcafee his due. Now this is a HIT! I think the ref wanted to throw a flag for unnecessary roughness but realized it was the KICKER! So they let him have his moment. Enjoy this while next week, we will show video of Pat Mcafee getting lit up.

2) We are getting to the great part of the college football season. Upsets are happening all over the place but also add amazing catches to an upset…..We are in HEAVEN! Tennessee WR Marquez North amazing catch against South Carolina, leading the Vols to a last-minute field goal to beat the Gamecocks.

3) Football lost two legends this weekend. We would like to take a moment to honor them both. Bum Phillips, a former head coach for Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints. He brought class to the game of football and made it for the better.

71348-custom

Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams who was the longest active tenure NFL owner. He was co-founder of the AFL and has brought football to two great cities, Houston and Nashville. We should all be thankful for him because without him, the game wouldn’t be where it is now

  dm_131021_nfl_bud_adams_dies

Bad:

1) Now, I have never scored a touchdown in my life but this touchdown celebration by Logan Ryan would never crossed my mind to do.

2) Who has ever said “Lets bring back those old Packers uniform?” Because I would like to beat them!!!!! Why do I have to see these god awful uniforms?

pg2_ap_packers_unis_576

Ugly:

1) I wonder if these security guys at the stadiums get paid really well. If not….this guy should quit his job!

Rob Ryan vs Tom Brady:

I believe the biggest factor for the Saint 5-0 start is Rob Ryan. Yes, I know Sean Payton has brought the offense back but lets understand….Saints defense was the worst in the NFL last year. They lost to 2-14 Kansas City Chiefs! (Now, that doesn’t look bad since the Chiefs are 1 of 3 undefeated teams in NFL this year) New Orleans set the NFL record for most yards allowed in a season. In the first 5 games, Rob Ryan has them ranked 11th in total defense and 4th in points allowed (14.6 per game).

It has been no secret that Patriots offense is not the what it use to be. Is it because of the wide receivers? Maybe. Is it because there is no Gronk or Welker? Possibly. Is it because Tom Brady is not as great anymore? NOW YOU TAKE BACK THAT CRAZY TALK! Sorry, i lost my cool. There are many factors in the offensives woes but the one thing about a Belchick team, they will continue to improve and work at it. Great test verses a defensive coordnatior who likes to confuse offense with schemes and disguises. If anything, it will be a great match up between two proven people in the NFL.

Giants experience defensive line vs Bears young offensive line:

The Bears looked like the same old Bears. Jay Cutler got sacked 3 times and knocked down 6 more times against the New Orleans Saints last week. Is it a one week thing or is it becoming more of a trend? Thursday night will prove as test even with the Giants having a poor season but they still have a defensive line that will cause problems. Chicago has lost 2 in a row, can they stop the skid or keep going down hill on primetime?

Match up to Watch:

Kenny Vaccaro vs Ryan Tannehill:

Saints 1st round pick has proven to be worth the selection. He has been flying all over the field and causing havoc! Quarterbacks have to know where he is on the field. He has been covered tight ends and slot receivers at times. Ryan Tannehill has been overlooked since he was in the same draft class as Andrew Luck (1st overall), Robert Griffin III (2nd overall) and Russel Wilson (3rd round selection) but he has played very well this year. Can he keep it up or will Vaccaro ruin it???

Kenny Vaccaro #15 pick for the New Orleans Saints

130509222438-kenny-vaccaro-single-image-cut

Position: Safety

Height: 6’0 Weight: 214 Arms: 32 3/4 Hands: 10 40 time: 4.63

The New Orleans Saints defense was AWFUL! Not just bad at one thing….bad at EVERYTHING! Don’t believe me then here are the numbers: They were 31st in the league in points allowed with 28 points per game, 32nd in the league in yards allowed with 440 per game, 32nd in league against the run and 25th in the league in sacks with 3o. The Kansas City Chiefs 1 of 2 wins were against the Saints and the Chiefs had the #1 pick in the 2013 draft.

Born in Brownville, Texas and then attended University of Texas from 2009 til 2012. He played safety, nickleback and special teams. He gained honors such as First-team All-Big 12 (2011, 2012) and First-team All-American (2012). But his biggest accomplishment was sacking Sam Bradford in the Red River Rivalry.

Strength:

+ His play recognition is the best part of his game.

+ Does a good job in zone coverage and reading the receiver.

+ Takes out the lead blocker so the defense behind him can make a play.

+ High motor. All over the field. Is one of those players who is making a play all the time.

+ Does a great job at covering the slot receiver.

Needs Improvement:

– Will leave his feet to make a tackle and will whiff on it.

– Will miss time his jump so he is ineffective against the jump ball.

– Is too high to make a tackle.

– Needs to work on his press coverage against the receiver.

Summary:

He will not fix the Saints defense but he can’t make it worse. When i see Vaccaro, i see someone who could be like Polamalu without the hair. He just seems too erratic sometimes and will try too hard to make a big play instead of just making a tackle for a few yard gain. If anyone can get the most out of him and use him with creativity is Rob Ryan.
